In that liminal space just before I fell asleep last week, I suddenly sat up in bed as I
just knew exactly where to find something that I’d been searching for for over a year. I got up straight away and looked. It was there! A new Sun gong on a website just exactly as had come to me in that altered state when I was about to drop off. I ordered it there and then. On Saturday, I welcomed Leo the Sung gong into the Gong Sanctuary.

Sometimes, when I’m guiding a meditation or coaching someone, I find just the right thing to say or do from nowhere. It might be many years experience paying off, but it also feels like I reach right through layers of consciousness and find the activation point that starts the change for the better.
These occurrences are not thinking. Quite the opposite. They only happen when the mind is quiet.
They may come as an impression, a fleeting image, a sound or voice, a feeling, or in this case ‘just knowing’ (I don’t know how else to describe it, as it was none of the above.) The point is, that it happens fast. If you’re not paying attention, and your mind is full of thoughts replaying the day and what you should have said or done, or are thinking about what to say next, or what you’ll do tomorrow or the next day, or how rubbish (or great) life (or someone) is right now…you’ll miss it.
Some call it intuition. Some call it clairsentience. Some say you are linking into the cosmic or divine internet of ideas, the Universal Unconscious. Maybe it’s God – although why they would bother to tell me about a gong in this instance, I don’t know. Some call it a gut feeling – although it feels more heart-centred to me. All I do know is pay attention to your intuition and act on it. It’s there for a reason.
